When you have cold fingers and are tying on small flies, one of the fastest and easiest knots to tie on the water is a Davy Knot. It has a much smaller profile than most of the standard knots we use, making it perfect for any flies under a size 14. It is also quite strong, as we have put many 18+ inch fish in the net caught on flies secured with this knot. Give it a try!
